Article Discovery

Mimir Crypto maintains a list of about 15-20 news sources that are scanned for new articles once per hour.

Ethical Decisions

• Sources are scanned in series, one by one, in random order.
• Sources are never scraped for old articles.
• Sources are scanned once per hour to avoid additional strain on the websites.

Article Analysis

Analysis is done using DeepSeek's V3 0324 model. It is asked to extract the following information about the article it analyses:

• Title
• Authors
• Published date and time
• Article type (news, analysis, opinion, educational, other)
• Significance (see below)
• Sectors
• Tickers
• People
• Organizations
• Summary (not visible on the website in respect to the publisher)
• Sentiments

Significance Rating

Significance is a score between 1 and 10, where 1 is trivial and 10 is highly market-moving:

• 1 Trivial housekeeping (minor UI update, meet-and-greet, rumor with no source).
• 2 Small team/newsletter, no numbers, no adoption, no authority cited.
• 3 Niche project update or local event; no wider implications.
• 4 Minor funding/partnership (<$5M) or small exploit (<$1M) with limited blast radius.
• 5 Moderate release/funding ($5-$50M), single protocol migration, or localized rulemaking.
• 6 Material but contained: mid-size exchange listing/delisting; exploit $1-$10M; country-level proposal (not enacted).
• 7 Major but not systemic: enacted rule in one major jurisdiction; exploit $10-$100M; large exchange/product launch; significant court ruling for a single firm.
• 8 Cross-market impact: coordinated regulator action, stablecoin/bridge stress, exploit >$100M, delisting by multiple top venues, policy with extraterritorial reach.
• 9 Systemic event: stablecoin depeg of top-3 asset, shutdown/insolvency of a top-3 centralized player, coordinated multi-jurisdiction enforcement.
• 10 Market-wide breakage: multi-asset exchange halts, top-2 chain consensus failure, sweeping law instantly reshaping global compliance.

Ethical Decisions

• Articles are never analyzed in parallel.
• Articles are analyzed in a random order to distribute the load evenly.
• Maximum 1-2 articles are analyzed per minute.
• Article summaries are not visible on the website in respect to the publisher.
